The October 29-01 weekend, more than 40 members of our unit were deployed in the Valcartier region at the same time as the 3 other armored units in the Quebec region, the 12e Régiment Blindé du Canada, the Royal Canadian Hussars as well as the Hull Regiment.
The name AR2D (Armored Regiment of the 2nd Division) is intended to be a unifying way of describing the squadron made up of the 4 armored units of the 2nd division (Quebec).
In total, more than 150 reservists were able to train on armored cavalry drills and many other things such as attacks and defensive positions.
This model is based on training at squadron level, that is to say carrying out simultaneous operations with 4 troops at the same time.
In total we will do 6 exercises of this kind, lasting from September 2023 to May 2024.
