GPE 3 - Nov 18 to 20, 2022 - Brigade level training in the Thetford Mines area.
Our members recently trained in the Thetford Mines area as part of the annual GPE training at the brigade level.
The members of the Sher H's A Sqn had the chance to make advances through mining roads and clear strategic points in order for the infantry units from the 35 CBG to execute their attacks and clear the surrounding buildings. This 3rd fall exercise, being a confirmation of what we learned during the last exercices, our members performed very well and impressed the organizers and other participants.
Still, the temperature surprised many, reaching as low as -12 degrees Celsius on Saturday night. The troops who had to sleep outside during the night from Saturday to Sunday, were of course equipped for the occasion. The cold will certainly have prepared them for the winter warfare course scheduled next January.
All in all, the training period is already drawing to a close. Individual instruction and training will resume after the holiday break with courses such as RWS (Remote Weapon System) and possibly G-Wagon / Milcot driving courses.
